My first recollection of music I heard over me fatha’s snoring on the couch was Bohemian Rhapsody on the Chart countdown on Radio 1 on a Sunday teatime…frightened the shite out of me!!!…didn’t know what to make of it? ….. still don’t.
Discovering the Sex Pistols in 1977 instantly blew me head off!….so much so…it lead me to rip the old chain off me mothers sink basin and clag it to me denim jacket!…and she clagged me for doing it…The sound of the Bollocks album has never been equaled in my opinion. Always been a big fan of the Clash, Iggy, Damned etc….
In the 80’s a diet of Beatles, U2, Wonderstuff to Stone Roses was my stuff.

Loved the Mondays and the Madchester crack.. Listened to Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and all tunes from the 1960’s from Liverpool Mersey beat stuff, Stones to late 68/69 psychedelic, garage and funk/soul stuff….I am currently listening to 22-20’s first album, reliving the Small Faces again, more Kinks, Zutons and just taking in the latest Primal Scream album.

I’ve been in other bands with all three of the other members of the Distractions at different times. In a band called Switch with Paul from 1988 to about 1993. And with Tony and Leigh in bands Radiation and Mad Lucas from about 1994 to 1998…striving to get the record deal that never happens to lads from up our way…..(bitter or what)…..great laughs and great gigs all the way…I might even disclose the odd story now and again…watch this space!!
